Scolded For His Sin

He sat there in the recliner brooding.
His first visit to my in-laws ... liberal and educated people.
He was never comfortable in company - no social graces.
He made a bigoted remark -
I can't remember which group he criticized.
My in-laws just ignored it, gracious and welcoming folks.
But I scolded him.
Not just because I was embarrassed.
But because it was wrong.
So he sat in their living room brooding.
