I Cannot Be A Man 'Till It Ends

Boy, where did you get that shiner?
"I fell into a door knob," said he.
No door knob made that.
That man's sin is my sin
And I cannot be a man 'till it ends.

Girl, where did you get that bruise?
"I fell out of a tree," said she.
No tree limb made that.
That man's sin is my sin
And I cannot be a man 'till it ends.

Gaia, where did you get that slash.
"I feel onto a cracked plate," said she.
No plate made that.
That man's sin is my sin
And I cannot be a man 'till it ends.

No, never, O never again must it be.
As long as there is a man
Who beats a boy, rapes a daughter, slashes the earth,
Tho' never have I done so
That man's sin is my sin
And I cannot be a man 'till it ends.
