Rebellion 2

Forgive us, O God, our rebellion:
Where You lure,
    we coerce;
Where You have faith in us,
    we deny You and seek our own;
Where You go to the victim,
    we flee;
Where You sustain even in suffering,
    we pile suffering on suffering;
Where You reconcile,
   we sunder;
Where You serve,
   we master;
Where You give,
   we take.
Free us, save us from all of our clingings:
  of coerciveness, faithlessness, fear,
      self-destruction, divisiveness, dominance,
    and abuse,
  so that we may touch You
  and serve You and Your Creation
without desire,
  indifferent to ourselves
As Jesus did.
